Updates

when i last posted i was awaiting guinea babies and getting married in august... boy how things have changed.

i now have 9 guineas i have hatched

(these are my last hatch)

that includes Dumpling my special needs guinea

Dumpling was born with a syndrom that prevents her from ever walking and ever being a normal guinea, i have made her sling that she sits in every day, she even has a special basket in my room .

I didnt get married. He lied to me for two years about his divorce being final. It never was. I found out 15 days before the wedding date. I was so relieved!

Now Charlie is in my life again. I couldnt be happier.

>>Charlie and i dated off and on 4 years ago. He got married, she cheated on him the same weekend my wedding was called off.

>>We hadnt spoken for 3 1/2 years when he called out of the blue. Now we are together.

>> Now is that fate or what?

mini guineas

pearl guinea

i have a new hobby.
i am going to have mini guineas.

if you are not familiar with guineas, good keep it that way! they are loud buzzard headed lookin things, but ive became quite attached to ours.
most people buy guineas to help control insects and other pests, which ours do but they also have a quirk most probably dont. they think they are dogs, and they like me for some unknown reason, i have a dark gray car and when they see my coming home they run out to meet me and peck my hubcaps, they also like to look at me through the window when in in the kitchen, did i mention they are free range over 60 acers?... i dont know whythey like me ive never had anything to do with them until this project.
you see we have 6 guineas or we did until last week when one was taken off the nest by a fox (fact: from the moment a guinea chick (or keet) hatches it can fly), so i went and got the eggs (i had found the nest some weeks before) which we thought she had begun setting and put them in an incubator not really knowing how long she had been gone (we think only a few days).
FYI finding a field guinea nest is like an easter egg
hunt from hell, they like to lay in heavy brush areas or in brush piles,
the mate will give you some clues but if you dont pay attention and know
what you are looking for you WILL NEVER find it. oh and once you touch
the nest they will abandon it and move to another location and you have
to start all over again... im on my 3rd and 4th nests and ive been looking
for over a week with no luck yet.
last night my mom and i candled the eggs (shined a light through the shells) to see if we could see any movement, we saw movements in the eggs we checked!!!! im so excited
